A Good Sense of Distaste - Update

If you thought that I was perhaps a bit too critical in my post here, then have look at the first picture. I might be able to digest the lehenga but those shoes!!! I mean, who goes to anybody's wedding (yeah, she is attending a wedding)wearing rubber platforms. And, for the record, the famous celebrity is Ekta Kapoor - the owner of the biggest production house on Indian Television (means that she is in the company of well dressed people all the time!!!)

I have put up the second pic for two reasons. One, is the mermaid cut style which is looking totally unfaltering even on the models. Mermaid style is a very tricky style to get right and can make you look bottom heavy. I also didn't like the color combination, the embroidery, the top and the frills at the bottom of the lehenga. With so many other beautiful options to choose from, the bride (or for that matter anyone) should never settle for these.

So ladies, have a good sense of distaste and stay pretty.

I am totally with you on everything in this post! ... Ekta needs a serious wardrobe intervention! How can people dress so badly when they are in constant company of such fabulous dressers. Not to mention the fact that she has all the resources to her disposal. Some people are just oblivious :o)

i agree the mermaid style seems hard to pull off!

I saw Shilpa Shetty wearing mermaid style dress and it was looking fab on her but mermaid is not meant for every one infact for many of us...

as far as Ekta is concerned I have never seen her dressing well.

Nice post:)

These shoes seem like Ekta's Fav. I have seen lots of pics of hers wearing the same, despite the fact that everyone seems to pan them.

Ekta's shoes make me crack up every time! They are so amusing!:P And she's like surgically attached to them!

ok, this woman Ekta Kapoor, has access to all the money in the world and yet she dresses up like a clown. i have seen her in these slippers or whatever they are over n over again. I mean does no one ever points it out to her.look at her lehnga, it looks she pulled it out of her mother's trunk, n wore it. You dont have to be a A-list dresser, but no matter what your preofession, you need to look presentable....sorry for the rant, but it just irks me beyond words

@God made me funky - olaala...she sure irks you..very evident from ur comment ;)

@Sonal - you must be coming across her pictures so very often..you pointed right..the bottom of both of the cuts is bad :))

Those dresses in the second picture do seem a tad over-the-top. Sometimes designers just don't know when to stop! I think that each of them have certain good elements, but not enough to save them!

As for the first photo, yeah, those shoes are bad.
