Pastel Perfect

What better way to beat the heat this summer than in soft soothing pastel colors? We have been seeing lot of pastels in western outfits, but don’t you think that our Indian designers are far behind. I came across these beautiful designs by Rocky S and loved how perfect these outfits would be for your summer engagements.

Common perception is that Indian outfits are limited to just bold and bright colors. And, if we think of light colors only beige, creams or whites come to mind. But a softer tone of bright colors is truly a breath of fresh air. It can look so much more appealing and elegant and makes for a perfect daytime look and can easily be transitioned to your night out wear.

The rule of thumb here is to not disturb the color palette by adding or mixing any bright color with muted shades. Also the jewelry and make up should be equally subtle and minimal. For instance, pearls would work with most of the soft tones perfectly.

So, give your dazzling side a break and instead go for a soft color palette this season.

Good morning Sovina..

Nice to see your post in the morning.I am sure u r enjoyig your stay in Delhi and yes I am from Delhi too:)

I liked the blue sari but I wish these girls could be little more plump..They all look anorexic to me..:D

Sovina said...

ha ha ...you are so right..they look so thin and soo tall..:))

I love these muted tones! The bright ones are always fantastic, but it's good to have a little variety, especially for different seasons. I always want to wear pastel colours in the spring time!

I absolutely love that blue outfit! It's gorgeous and sexy!

I like such pastel hues a lot. And I am a big fan of shaded outfits, specially saree. "My Type" of saree here is the orange one. Thats so ME. I like its color (shades), no embroidery look. I think it is french chiffon. I so love it. I also like the pink suit. Again because of the smart cut and no embroidery look. Very nice collection.

Hi Sovi...
Thank u for the rule of the thumb there...very good tip actually:-)
And I remember how I used to love pastels once...
That’s before I discovered the power of red n black!
But so soothing to see the shades here:-)
Also please don’t miss the footwear that’s sooooooooo hot!
:-)

Love the icy blue...the others are probably too light for me...I'm just really into brights!! Also, the thing with dawning the pastel/muted shades look from head to toe is that it can make a lot of complexions look washed out..which is probably why these models also look really thin, and somewhat like they are sick!

I have to agree with Anamika. These outfits would have looked better on the model if they had some curves! I would never mix my pastels with brights!
