Wedding Theme - Orange

Orange perfectly fits the bright bold colors that are a hallmark for Indian Weddings. That being said, I think that the best way to play orange is to mix and match with other colors. In summers mix orange with cream, beige or aqua as in the outfit above. In winters, orange with blue or dark mauve would look darn good.

Most of the brides tend stick to the traditional color scheme of orange with red, pink or green. And, it works just fine if you want to say closer to home and want a traditional look. But, I strongly recommend experimenting a bit and playing orange with cream, gold or aqua. The pastel orange (see the lehenga above) is the new craze these days and is perfect for sangeet, mehendi or other functions.

(P.S. I have been going a little slow on blogging these days as my hand has been troubling me a lot. It is showing signs of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and if anyone experiences the same pains then please share what to do? And, thanks to Splurgerina for sending me those exercises. I am onto them now.)

Sovina! Carpal Tunnel syndrome already? Did you get your blood profile done? Make sure you are sitting in the correct posture--use a wrist support, make sure you dont have to bend them too much. Make sure you dont have any neck problems that might be causing the CTS. Keep doing wrist movements to avoid stiffness and use ice massage/hot packs for pain relief. if its too much, just go to a doctor honey.

Umm okay. Now about the post, I'm seeing Orange a lot these days and I'm mighty loving it because Burnt ORange and white are colours of my school!! :) However, I quite like orange and blue and orange and mauve combos too, on the flashy side! :)

Listen, better take good care of yourself and I hope you feel better soooooooooon!

Such a beautiful, vibrant color!

You can a brace at most any drug store for carpal tunnel. Wear it as much as you can and see if that makes a difference! If you can't find one I'm sure they can be ordered on the internet. :)

This orange inspiration is great! And I definitely like the idea of trying to keep it in a more modern colour scheme by using cream and aqua or something!

My mom has quite a lot of trouble with her hands as well. I'm not really sure what you can do about it. She has an exerciser thing that you squeeze to strengthen your hand, but that may have been for some other problem (she seems to have lots). Definitely talk to a doctor.

I find orange a very difficult color to carry because if not done right, it ends up looking garish and loud. But you are right, orange would totally go with the opulence of an indian wedding!

Ohh! I hope u r feeling better now. I have no idea about Carpel Tunnel so I will refrain from giving you any advice, but do get well soon :)

A lot of brides are experimenting with orange - but for other functions like engagement, sangeet & all, not for the wedding so much. But it is a pretty color :)

Sovina said...

@tanveer- yup feeling much better now..most of the wedding stuff available in orange color is not very heavy..as a wedding outfit would have..so i guess that's the reason it is popular for wedding functions...one reason could also be that traditional gold jewelery doesn't stand out very much in orange as it gets all mixed up..that could also be the reason..you have a good eye :)
